1.24.05 - Mower drummer Dan Harper has been found.

Mower drummer Dan Harper has been found after being missing for five days. The Oceanside Police Department said Harper has been found and is at Tri City Hospital. Sergeant Rick Favela would not disclose Harper's medical condition.

Mower, together for over six years, recently opened for Metallica at the Sports Arena and for Slayer at Soma. Harper's abrupt disappearance forced the band to cancel two shows last weekend.

For their show this Sunday in Pacific Beach, a member of Mower said the band would be using a replacement drummer. He said the band is looking for a permanent replacement.

Harper has missed the last several scheduled Mower rehearsals and has not returned calls from friends, family and band members.

Harper was last seen at his home in Oceanside, CA, near College Avenue Tuesday the 18th of January at 8am by family members.

Anyone with knowledge of Harper's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the band at mowerinfo@yahoo.com until the formal missing persons report is filed today by his family.

Dan Harper's physical description is as follows: 30 year old white male, shaved head, brown eyes, brown goatee, approximately 5' 10" and weighing 185 pounds, tattoos - wizard on right arm, drum sticks playing drums with a joker below on left, and skull on his back.

Mower hopes getting the word out fast may help in finding Dan unharmed. The band thanks everyone for their efforts in advance and hopes for the best.

Mower will not be performing this Saturday at The Blvd in San Marcos, CA as planned.  Future shows including next Sunday's set at Typhoon Saloon will continue as scheduled with a different drummer filling in.

1.20.05 - Mower narrowly escapes melee at Kottonmouth Kings show in San Diego...

Last Saturday's show at Canes in San Diego erupted into total chaos during Mower's set.  The set, cut very short due to technical problems and time constraints saw the capacity crowd at Canes launch into one of the fiercest pits at the venue in a long time.

During the second song, singer Sheerin hopped the guardrail and headed into the crowd.  As the the mosh pit swirled, one concertgoer took a cheap shot at the singer, who retaliated, with punches echoing through the PA system as the microphone never left his hand.

During the next song, a female fan jumped onstage and began flashing the audience, and as technical problems cut out his guitar, bassist McCredie did a front flip off the stage onto the crowd.

It was a great show.

12.19.04 - Slayer show in San Diego blows up, "Another State of Mind" appearance, Winn Body Arts and interview with Missi...

The Slayer show was all it was cracked up to be.  Many thanks to Jagermeister, Sydney Frank Co. and all our friends and fans who got there early to be a part of the show and get involved in the documentary.

Mower took the stage to chanting and from the first song a huge hole opened up and turned into a massive mosh pit.  It never stopped...

The set was furious and the band tore through six songs without stopping.  The setlist consisted of 10'X10', NND, Wrestle with the Pig, Shut Up & Skate, Pieces and Long Awaited Riot.

Mastodon, Killswitch Engage and Slayer all had insane sets, and Adam and Rick from Jagermeister made certain the Jager shots were flowing all evening.  The Slayer crew could not be cooler and the meet and greet with Kerry King was a bonus for the Mower crew.

Brian and Matt will be on Rock 105.3FM's "Another State of Mind" with Jack and Norm tonight at 10:00pm to recap the year and talk about their recent shows and upcoming Mower events.

Mower has partnered with Winn Body Arts of La Jolla located at 565 Pearl Street, Suite 103, La Jolla, CA - 858.456.4657.  Mower has wanted to work with a body art sponsor for a long time now, but it took a while to find a quality shop that wanted to get involved.  The crew at Winn's is top notch and the facility is clean and has a great vibe.  Chris Winn, Beck and the crew are all ready to hook up your designs or create the perfect piece for you and Gator can handle your piercing requests.

You can look out for some of their ink on the Mower crew soon.  Check it out for yourself at www.winntattoos.com or visit the shop in La Jolla.  Make sure to tell them Mower sent you.

Those of you that heard the interview with Missi on Rock 105.3 last week in San Diego know that Mower is heading into the studio to record new music and that the station is receiving a lot of requests for "California Dreaming" and have been playing the track frequently. Keep letting them know you want to hear it and they'll keep playing it.

12.15.04 - Get to Soma by 6:30pm tomorrow to be in the new Mower video and documentary...

Tomorrow is the San Diego date on the Fall 2004 JagermusicTour with SLAYER, Killswitch Engage, Mastadon and...Mower.

A film crew will be there early with the band shooting footage for an upcoming music video and documentary.  Be there by 6:30pm and you can find yourself onscreen in the upcoming Mower documentary film and music video!

Mower will be onstage at 7:00pm sharp and the set is short because of the number of bands so plan ahead and let your friends know what's up.

The film crew wants to capture the biggest, loudest, gnarliest Mower pit ever seen and this is the night to do it.

When the first song kicks in it is your cue to tear it up!

11.29.04 - MOWER BLOWS UP AT "ROCK BEFORE CHRISTMAS" (LITERALLY), Mower documentary filming begins...

Mower's appearance at Rock 105.3FM's "Rock Before Christmas" concert with Metallica and Godsmack was powerful, apparently too powerful...

Taking the stage amidst a solid "Mower" chant from the hometown crowd, the band ripped into their set with their usual abandon inciting a healthy mosh pit from the word go.

The stage was flanked with Deja Vu dancers in cages wearing next to nothing and doing their best to move as fast as the music.  The intensity level inside the tent was high.

It was not to be a full set, however.  After performing "Wrestle with the Pig" and "You're Out, Get Out" the generator being used to power the band's equipment surged and brought the show to a halt.

After ten minutes of the stage crew trying to get the instruments powered again while audience members jumped up on stage to crowd surf and stage dive, the band was forced to call the show and left the stage to more chanting from their fans.

Any disappointment Mower may have felt was quickly dispelled as the band immersed itself in tailgating with 3against1, Missy and Clint from Rock 105.3, their friends, fans and the film crew that has begun to document the band for a new film and a video for the song "Faded".

In honor of Adam Grayer, Mower's Jagermeister representative, a full bottle of Jagermeister disappeared in record time and the band rolled inside the San Diego Sports Arena to watch the Metallica concert.

So...if you arrived late Wednesday night, you missed the record-breaking gig that now owns the title of shortest Mower set ever (previous record was two and a half songs at a New Year's Eve show a few years ago).

That's a record that should stand the test of time.

11.18.04 - Lots of news! - New Mower album taking form, Tours, New Jagermeister merch, New XYZ DVD and more...

Expect a wide range of music on the next Mower disc, from truly heavy hardcore to whiskey rock and back to the band's east coast punk roots.  The pre-production is going very well and the band is excited to get back into the studio again.

Both the Phunk Junkeez tour and Mower tours were great fun, giving the guys an opportunity to get back across to the east coast and tear through the southwest before the end of 2004.

Jagermeister has done it again for Mower.  In addition to lining up the Slayer show in San Diego and providing tons of free giveaways for Mower fans, they are now providing customized Mower/Jager merchandise including shirts, shotglasses, posters, etc.  They look great and make nice collectors' items for the faithful.

The San Diego Reader did a piece on the upcoming XYZ DVD entitled Decade of Destruction, shot by Mower friend and Downspell member Tyson Montrucchio, which will be available December 1, 2004 and shows "friends" getting stapled in the neck and face, a "sushi party" where tropical fish get swallowed live, and a "sleeper ball" segment.

Tommy Caudill (XYZ Owner) explains that a sleeper ball is "where someone is sleeping, and they get a fireball on their head."

Caudill goes on to describe what is arguably the most insane moment in a DVD full of insane moments: "We put two 18-foot Slip N' Slides together, so it ended up being 36 feet long. Then we poured 25 bottles of rubbing alcohol on it. We lit it on fire, and our friend Pinner slid on it. On the video he looks like baby Superman when he came to Earth and landed in the ditch and left a big trail."

Decade of Destruction is fueled by speed and death metal. "We have two cuts by Lamb of God," said Montrucchio. "We used tracks they made before they were signed to Epic." The soundtrack also includes music by Isis (from Los Angeles), 16 (Orange County), Unearth (Boston), and Montrucchio's own band, Downspell. "The guys in Slayer are seen in the video hanging out, but we couldn't afford to use their music. They wanted thousands of dollars. But the guys in the band are friends of ours."

Appearing in Decade of Destruction is Steve-O, a major character in Jackass and in the Wild Boyz series currently running on MTV.  Mower's track "Shut up and Skate" runs throughout the Steve-O segment.

This DVD is absolutely sick.  After watching the advance version a few times on tour, Mower came up with their own title for the DVD, "Cringe" - it really is hard to watch, but even harder not to watch.  Go get it.

Decade of Destruction will be available on DVD after December 1 through www.xyzvideousa.com.

San Diego's Rock Station, Rock 105.3FM is sponsoring a contest this Saturday, November 20 at Canes (3105 Oceanfront Walk, Mission Beach, CA behind the rollercoaster) to play at the upcoming "Rock Before Christmas" concert with Metallica and Godsmack at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Admission to Canes is free before 8:00pm Saturday which is great because Mower plays at 8:00pm sharp.  So come out to "The Dinner Show" and support Mower so they can play the Metallica/Godsmack show.
